Japanese Adjectives I Adjectives and NA Adjectives い形容詞+な形容詞 (I keiyoshi+Na keiyoshi)

Today, I wanna teach you about Japanese Adjective which is called 形容詞 (Keiyoshi) in Japanese.

 

2 types of adjectives in Japanese

In Japanese, there are 2 types of Adjectives.い形容詞(I adjectives)&な形容詞(NA adjectives)
There are differences in shapes and how to use them.

I adjectives and NA adjectives

 

Examples for I adjectives(い形容詞)

“Mt. Fuji is high”
→富士山は高いです。

If you want to make this sentence negative, there will be several forms.

Making Negative form of I adjective

  1. Erase い(i)
  2. Put く(ku)
  3. Put ないですor はないです or くありません or くはありません

Examples for NA adjectives(な形容詞)

“Cherry blossoms are beautiful.”
→桜はきれいです。

If you want to make this sentence negative, you have to put じゃないですor ではないです or じゃありません or ではありません
