A  は  B  です。
   A      wa     B         desu.

→  A  is  B 

*In Japanese, “wa” almost always comes after the subject.
Sometimes we put “ga” instead of “wa” to emphasize the subject.

 

Examples

１）私は日本人です。

→I am Japanese

 

２）私はインド人です。
→I am an Indian.

 

３）あなたは、日本人です。

→You are Japanese.

 

４）あなたは、インド人です。

→You are an Indian.

 

５）わたしは、クマール です。

→ I am Kumar

 

６）彼は、先生です。

→ He is a teacher

 

７）先生は若いです。

→The teacher is young

 

８）彼女はかわいいです。

→She is cute.
